High Tea and Valentino

On Friday my friend Richelle and her daughter Sophie and I finally went to the Valentino Exhibition, it closes on the 14th of this month. We had been planning to go since before it openned but could never quite seem to have all the stars aligned and we didn't want to not all go together. It was breathtakingly stunning and such an honour to be able to see these designs and the amazing fabrics up close ( you all know how much I love Fabric) . I couldn't believe how many people were there and we had to queue, the line was almost out the door of GOMA. I was also very proud as I walked around as my best friend from school and Uni days was the Brisbane Curator of the Exhibition and when I saw her name on the wall as I came out of the exhibition it was just so wonderful and I couldn't help but think of those two girls and their dreams mucking up in the Art department at school...not so many years ago...ha.
Before we went to the gallery, Richelle and I went to the wonderful Stamford hotel which is on the Brisbane River just near the Botanical Gardens for high tea while Sophie was happier shopping.
YUM! The food and service were excellent.

I had never been to this hotel before and the setting is so lovely.

I hope you all have a lovely day and if you haven't been to the Valentino exhibition its not too late you still have a few days. Brisbane is very lucky as it is the only city in Australia to get this wonderful Exhibition.

  1. I too loved the Valentino Exhibition - drooling over those amazing creations.

I wasn't lucky enough to have a high tea after though, Katherine. I would have to work out how to eat those stunning delectables first. Glad you had a fab day.

  2. What a great day! I went a few weeks ago and was amazed at the volume of dresses. You're right seeing the fabric up close was a priviledge to see in person. The attention to detail was exquisite. What a scrumptious looking high tea. How nice to play ladies! :) x
