All of these old boxes will be heading off to The Cottage Garden Nursery in East Brisbane. I love old boxes and people can be so imaginative with their uses. These images are some of my favourite uses.
Carry your goods home in style.
(Image from Design Sponge)....cute wall shelves.
This idea is great, instant gardens.
And how about this amazing use, an internal stairway. (Image from Recycled Home by Sally Bailey)
They are groovy as shelves and are easy to make. Either stack them up or add a few nails to make sure they don't move once in place.( Image from Recycled Home by Sally Bailey)
But by far my favourite use for old boxes would have to be the good old billy goat cart as seen in this old photo. To contact please email

I love old wooden crates. That staircase is something else!
ReplyDeleteThose stairs! How truly amazing are they!
ReplyDeleteCheers x
Cant beat the billycart. I can see them used as fabic and notion storers.
ReplyDeleteThey look fabulous don't they. ;-)
ReplyDeleteOH... we all had billy carts as kids.. [haha kids] but I've never seen a 'Billy' cart.. boy am I slow but obviously this is the origin of the 'billy cart' [too many puns and almost puns in that sentence]
ReplyDeleteThe last pic is fab.. as are the boxes... ciao ciao xxx Julie
You're a clever woman because now I'm thinking, "Yes, MMMC, you do need to make some things out of old boxes, all of a sudden!"
ReplyDeleteBeautiful images. Have those butterfly chairs sold?
I use old boxes for loads of things around the house & they make great shelves for my stall at vintage fairs & then I use them to carry the stuff in - multi, multi purpose.

PS: Of COURSE it's AOK to say you'd prefer it left the way it is....Truth be told, as much as I LOVE cow skin, the shabby black pleather on my vaulting horse has grown on me....I might just leave it as is after all.... :o) !!!
