Check these out... SUPER kitsch 1970's wall Spoon & Fork sets

When I was a child in the late 1970's and I visited friends houses who had these big kitsch wooden spoon and fork sets (above) I thought, in my innocence, that their families were really cool and I always wished we had a set at home. But check these guys out...
These fellows are super kitsch !!!

Aren't they just fabulous ? I kind of love them as they are so unashamedly over the top in their 1970's, wooden, medieval inspired glory.

The same home had these beauties too...
Wooden Canon book ends....ahhh the 1970's. All of these are now for sale at
Shop 17 in the Woolloongabba Antique Centre.

  1. I think my father would love that fork and spoon set. I think it must be of Don Quixote and Sancho Panza?

I think I'll refer Dad here to have a gander!

    Hilarious!

  3. The designs of 70's were totally kitsch! I think back to the furniture and decor - and I have to laugh. I was just a kid but i remember all the dark woods and wrought iron railings.

Thanks for the trip down kitsch memory lane. We had a lime green laminate kitchen table, but no Giants fork & spoon though. Musn't have been that cool!

  6. They remind me of the kitchen set in the sitcom 'Every one loves Raymonds' - parents house. Very funny! ;-)

  9. Cute knife and fork. I can imagine them painted all white and hanging in a kitchen somewhere. Thanks for your lovely comments about my shop at night.
