Looking more closely ~ Vintage box, Hat Block and Biscuit Barrel
Sometimes when we get a lot of items I don't actually notice all the wonderful details that makes them so special until I am cleaning them up and deciding on their fate. These three items are good examples. You may remember them from yesterdays post.
Not only does this simple little hand made trinket box have the most lovely crackle paint finish,
it also has a very touching inscription inside. No doubt many of the other presents recieved by Nancy that year just went by the by but this one is still around. A testament no doubt to the specialness of this depression era gift for Nancy who would have been just a little girl I guess in 1932.
This hat block looks just like other you see,
until you look closely and see that someone has drawn a cute face on one side making it more personal and fun.
This old biscuit barrel, looks just like other cut glass and silver plate barrel you find now and then
Until you look closely and see the word "Biscuits" embossed on the front.
Just goes to show you sometimes have to look closely to see all an items charms. To contact please email firstname.lastname@example.org
