Friday Favourite ~ Mad comes to the City

This year my country girl niece Madeline moved to the big city.... Brisbane, to study Science. Her Brissie relatives have really enjoyed having her living here and I know I particularly feel as though I have gained a true friend whose company is just so much fun. It seems to me we she went away in nappies only yesterday and has come back all grown up, as she moved away when she was about 2 or 3 and is now 18. Each week depending on what we have on we have been trying to get together, not only for a good chat, but also so Mad can get to know different parts of the city. I have been rediscovering places and also finding some new places that seem to have sprung up when I wasn't looking. One such place is Cliffs Coffee Shop situated on top of the cliffs at Kangaroo Point. We went there this morning and had a great coffee, made by one of Mad's Uni friends, and a huge muffin. It is such a great spot and although it was a bit windy was really lovely once we found a sunny spot....they even have little rugs to pop on your legs to keep the chill off.

  1. Sounds like fun, having an excuse to visit great places...I lived in Brisbane for 12 months many years ago & I really loved it. We used to take our children to the MYER centre just to ride on the mini rollercoaster!!!
    I love your blog

  2. Hi Katherine, I have been rediscovering Brisbane as well, it's amazing what you find on your own doorstep that wasn't there before. Sounds like a lovely relationship with your niece. Lovely for both of you. Have a great weekend.

  3. Clearly, I haven't been looking either. Looks like a nice spot for coffee - love the swiss cheese chairs.
