Retro Office ~ Typewriters

I love the look and sound of old typewriters. Even if you don't use it they can look great on a side or office table to add a bit of retro charm to a room. I cleaned up these ones today.
                                             Fun two tone colours.

This one is electric. Makes a good whir when it is on and has the classic gunshot sound when you tap the keys.
                                  I like the smooth shape.

We also have this Olivetti counting machine.  Hope you are having a lovely start to the weekend.

  8. My mum made me take Typing in Years 9 & 10. I hated it but I was good at it & have thanked her many times over as it's helped me enormously over the years. I can still type 10 to the dozen as well. (I don't know if that's a recognised speed ;-) I learnt on an old clunker ... nothing as beautiful as that blue electric one. The keys look nice and smooth & easy to type on. Very nice!

  9. Hey Julie, Typewriters have increased in popularity so have increased in price. The manual ones still seem to be the favs. Price is dependent on condition, look and brand. Average ones start at about $45. If they have a bit of colour etc they go up to about $75 and if they are "special" ie a particular design etc they can fetch much much more.
Hey Posie, I hope to have them over at the WAC by Sunday arvo. They are priced $45 each for the plain manual and the electric and $65 for the groovy one, cheers Katherine
