I am just getting on top of the items from the house of shells when Kristen has just got back with another load of stuff from an old Queenslander in Kedron (including more shells !) Though I must say as we unpacked the bric a brac I am glad he did.(though I hope he did not miss anything with his better half not there haha).
As he walked in the first thing he saw was Miss teddy sitting in her very own miniature Genoa chair. Apparently the teddy had belonged to the daughter of the old 99 year old lady who has just lately passed on. The teenage daughter died in the early 1960's and ever since then the teddy had sat in the chair next to the old ladies arm chair in the lounge and they kept each other company at night. The girls bedroom had also been kept just as it was the day she died. Very sad. I might have cried had I been there hearing that story while looking at teddy in her chair.
Anyway I have to get back to sorting all these things out as except for the kitchen and the kids bedrooms, I have stuff in everyroom in the house that must be packed away, cleaned for the garden centre or the wac, or listed on ebay or sent to local auction. I think I might go crazy with it all. I am seeing shells and stuff everywhere I look.
Ps I will try and list some pictures of the fantastic furniture Kristen got from the old home.
