Pictures of some of my items up for auction on eBay this week

Can you guess what this item is ?
It is an amazing Antique washing machine....after seeing this I will never complain about doing the washing again.

Butterfly chairs also from the same old house

Very stylish chair no doubt Parker Knoll.

The colours of this one are a charming white and green, although it is grubby from being under the old house, with a little work it will have a perfect aged beachy, shabby look.

All of these items along with some others will be listing tonight on eBay for 7 days.

Italy and France at the Cottage Garden Nursery

Yesterday while restocking at the Cottage Garden Nursery I realised I have a touch of Italy and France happening.
This hanging pot holder hails from France and is made from beaten copper. Note the fish motif that runs around the edge.

Amazing Capodimonte centrepieces. Capodimonte as the name suggests comes from Italy. I think these are the largest and most ornate pieces I have ever had.  My favourite is the flower basket above. Made from fine porcelain they are so so over the top but in the right setting they would look truly amazing.
Capodimonte porcelain actually dates back centuries. The first pieces by this company were produced in Naples from 1759 to 1780 at the Royal Factory, according to the Capodimonte website. These pieces date from probably the 1960's if the families memories are correct.
Ornate candle holder, one of a pair.

I love the classic Capodimonte  fruit stands.
While I was at the nursery I was lucky to meet a lovely blog lurker....Veronica and her friend Moira. Hi Veronica...it was great to meet you both.
Hope you are all having a good start to the week.

What was getting the once over today...

Here is a few driveway snaps of the goodies that were getting a quick clean and then off to the WAC and Garden Centre today.
Mid Century, very Danish looking tray mobile.

Fabulous Bentwood chairs.
The backs are divine.

Maple table
Shabby cane coffee table
Laundry tubs. These ones are a nice oval shape. They remind me of all those old photographs you see with children bathing in them.
More kitchen chairs
ladders...perfect size for displaying linen etc.
But my favourite...no surprises there...this fabulous travel trunk.
It is a wardrobe style trunk and this is the right way to open it, on what you would think of as its side really.
Quick shot of the lovely old leather handle and stud details close up....Sigh!
This is why it opens like that. Inside it is ready to hang your suits/frocks like so...
And it has storage compartments for all your other smalls etc.

See how the bottom two compartments fold out and then open. Makes me want to wear hats and gloves and use words like "doll" and "my good man". Hope all you dolls have a grand week.
