Old Work Bench plus other goodies from today's Estate
I so love old work benches.... can't you just see this one with a bit of restoration as a kitchen island or on a verandah filled with baskets, enamelware or plants underneath. I also loved the cane blanket box. The legs on it splay out, so it gives it a stylish shape.
Don't forget if you'd like to be in the draw to win Bronnie Masefau's lovely book just leave a comment...you have until next Wednesday.
I am really drawn to anything old, wooden, and showing signs of it's previous lives, so I love the workbench! The wooden trunk/box is also a fab find. :) Flick
I have just found your blog through my daughter beth.I have added you to my favourites I am just going to have A good look through I love some of the things you have. Have A great week Hugs Mary.
I also have a 'thing' for old pieces like the work table! My favorite image. (the last time I really paid attention to the word splay was when my orthopedic surgeon told me my feet would splay as I grew older.) And splay they have ~ I like splay better in terms of furniture!
Oh Katherine, that big work bench is lovely, imagine it with a new coat of paint! I own this book too by the way so if I get drawn please redraw it! Hope Tues/Wed nights went well for you.
That old bench looks in really condition. I would love that if I had a nice big kitchen to put it in!
I am so behind in my commenting this last week but I wanted to tell you that last week I posted about a little jar I bought from your shop. I can't wait to go back and visit the centre soon!
Love the workbench - I'm sure there's one very similar in the back of my shed - must have a good look and maybe steal it before hubby notices! There are two in fact, left by the previous owners, so I'm sure he could spare one. Oh, and I'd love to go into the draw for your giveaway too please! Must come visit your stall at the antique centre if these goodies are anything to go by! Kerri xx
Hi Ange and everyone, I think I will have a go at restoring the old Bench a bit and will then take it to the garden centre...I like the challenge occassionlly. The basket i have taken to the Garden Centre and is for sale for $75 dollars, cheers Katherine

Awesome blog! Do you have any tips for aspiring writers?
I'm planning to start my own site soon but I'm a little lost on everything. Would you advise starting with a free platform like Wordpress or go for a paid option? There are so many choices out there that I'm completely overwhelmed .. Any ideas? Many thanks!
I agree, the old work bench is fantastic. I would love to see it used as an island bench. You could even add castors to make it portable. xx

Yes! I can see that bench as a kitchen island, and as McCarthy Designs suggest castors would be awesome to make it portable.
