I so love old work benches.... can't you just see this one with a bit of restoration as a kitchen island or on a verandah filled with baskets, enamelware or plants underneath. I also loved the cane blanket box. The legs on it splay out, so it gives it a stylish shape.

Yes! I can see that bench as a kitchen island, and as McCarthy Designs suggest castors would be awesome to make it portable.
ReplyDeleteI also have a 'thing' for old pieces like the work table! My favorite image. (the last time I really paid attention to the word splay was when my orthopedic surgeon told me my feet would splay as I grew older.) And splay they have ~ I like splay better in terms of furniture!

Love the workbench - I'm sure there's one very similar in the back of my shed - must have a good look and maybe steal it before hubby notices! There are two in fact, left by the previous owners, so I'm sure he could spare one. Oh, and I'd love to go into the draw for your giveaway too please!
