This morning I have been cleaning up these chest of drawers to take over to The Woolloongabba Antique Centre.
I like the two tone colours of the timber on this one,
and the height of this one. Sometimes with old drawers the drawers themselves can get a bit stiff and not like to move in and out easily. Here is an easy handy hint that works a treat.
Take an ordinary old candle. Doesn't matter that this one is broken it will still do the job perfectly.
Take out one of the offending drawers.
Run the candle along all the under sides, any place it will run against the chest. Push moderatley firmly.
You will see some of the wax comes off on the drawer edges.
Also run the wax along the insides of chest on the drawer runners. Pop the drawer back in.
Pop the drawer back in. Pull it in and out a few times and you should find a bit difference in the smoothness of the drawer action at least for a little while. Hope you all have a good day.
