Vintage fabric and some amazing Shell lights

Aren't these just amazing? They are almost so kitsch that they have gone full circle and become the most amazing little works or worlds of art. They do look wonderful all lit up. Back in the day these were very popular on ebay but even then I would have hesitated to list and then have to pack the fabulous coral ones as they are just to delicate.

I have been at it again with my fabric obsession and have some amazing vintage prints at the moment....these will be off to The Woollongabba Antique Centre.

Vintage China Love

All of these wonderful pieces of English China, stunning carnival glass etc will be off to the Woolloongabba Antique Centre and the Cottage Garden Nursery....there is always something timelessly romantic about the beauty of these wonderful items don't you think? My favourites are the Royal Winton cake plate in the Lakeland pattern and the stunning Crown Devon jug in such a stunning blue with gold trim.

Friday Favourite ~ Mad comes to the City

This year my country girl niece Madeline moved to the big city.... Brisbane, to study Science. Her Brissie relatives have really enjoyed having her living here and I know I particularly feel as though I have gained a true friend whose company is just so much fun. It seems to me we she went away in nappies only yesterday and has come back all grown up, as she moved away when she was about 2 or 3 and is now 18. Each week depending on what we have on we have been trying to get together, not only for a good chat, but also so Mad can get to know different parts of the city. I have been rediscovering places and also finding some new places that seem to have sprung up when I wasn't looking. One such place is Cliffs Coffee Shop situated on top of the cliffs at Kangaroo Point. We went there this morning and had a great coffee, made by one of Mad's Uni friends, and a huge muffin. It is such a great spot and although it was a bit windy was really lovely once we found a sunny spot....they even have little rugs to pop on your legs to keep the chill off.
