Wanted ~ Someone to love me....
Whenever we get vintage dolls it always makes me a bit wistful as they seem to really show how quickly life passes by. The little girl who owned these would now be a very old lady. The lovely thing is though dolls are always popular collectables and despite their very worn and much loved condition there is always another home looking to adopt them and take them in. We also got the dear little shoes in their original box, which although they are for a real little one would also be lovely for a old doll. To contact please email boathome@bigpond.net.au

"From Stanley With Love" ~ Things we got from the Estate
This house was built in 1934 for the owner of a prominent Brisbane department store owner G. Stewart and he obviously spared no expense. He had a full sized lawn bowls green built in the backyard with its own pavillian. I wished I could have taken more photos but it was raining and I did not want to wreck my phone.
The bowling green has been turned into a tennis court and a 100 strong banana grove. While the pavillion has been turned into a two car garage and entertainent area. Other wise the house and grounds are very original. It still has its original fence and driveway arch. Note the city view.
I have pictured some of the smaller items from the old house. It was too wet to picture the furniture. I really love the pair of silky oak counter chairs that would have been from the department store. But my favourite is the the huge framed embroidered memento of the Anzacs in Egypt in 1916. It is very touching as a young digger about to ship off to Gallipoli has embroidered to his sweetheart, "To Florrie from Stanley with Love".

Mama Bird and Baby Bird
My driveway looks like a disaster zone...stuff everywhere.... and I do admit I feel a little overwhelmed. The joys of working from home...NOT! So before I take pictures and tackle the goodies Kristen got yesterday I thought I would quickly show you this lovely peacock chair and its' baby....so cute! There is something about peacock chairs, maybe its the drama of them, for they are not very comfy, but they do satisfy the Boho princess in us all don't you think?
